You couldn’t be more wrong than you are!

1. How is it fair for fans of Minnesota and Dallas to play the majority of their games in later time zones? Both have to go to the west coast 5 times a year!

2. Where your wrong is it will not be the same teams year in and year out. Your talking about a playoff system that had the right concept now, but didn’t work so well back then. That was 1997-98 back when we had 4 less teams, no salary cap, and more parody now.

3. This will create more rivalries league wide. The day this was announced Minnesota/Winnipeg started a rivalry similar to Detroit/Colorado in the mid 90s. You could feel it. It’s a shame how close they are and what they started, Minnesota makes 1 trip to Winnipeg, and Winnipeg never comes here.

4 playoffs create rivalries. See Colorado/Detroit mid 90s, see Wild/Canucks early 2000s. The more you play them in the playoffs the more hatred means bigger rivalries. Division rivalries too

Your forgetting about the fans in Dallas and Minnesota who get screwed over by having over half of their games start in a later time zone. The fact Minnesota is in with Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton is ridiculous. Considering Chicago, St. Louis, Winnipeg are less than half the distance and play in the same time zone.

I don’t understand how anyone could actually favor the realignment that was proposed. Does no one realize that it is exactly like the way it was before just not calling then divisions but instead conferences? Back the same old teams in the playoffs year in and year out. Teams like the kings will never happen again under the new system. That’s why it was changed to the current system.

What do you mean do we see a lockout? This is not news. The owners don’t want the season to start unless there is a new CBA. If they allow the season to start without a CBA, then the players gain the leverage. Players with front loaded contracts get paid, and the rest get paid until the playoffs begin, which is when the players would strike because they’ve already cashed in their last check by that time.

Can we now rename this blog page? It should no longer be Pro Hockey Talk and should be renamed No Hockey Talk, because obviously we are gonna have no hockey unless all of these rich pompous as*es knock off the BS and start negotiating!

it was a flaw proposal in first place. they basically could kept the same format but brought nash into east and put jets in the west. the only change i would of made was if you win your division you shouldn’t be a top three seed and get rid of the the overtime loss points.

This issue isn’t going to cause a lockout just one the owners will have give something to get as it is a working condition.

Its thier league. Players are employees. Why shouldnt they have control over schedule, realignment etc? This crap is why it takes a Union company a month to complete a 2 day job.
