Unless the team getting superstar gets utterly ripped off in the deal the team trading the star is always deemed the loser. NYR is the winner sure but if the guys now in Columbus do what they’ve done before than the jackets did solid.

Dear Mr. McConnell,

As the owner of the Jackets, if you REALLY want to make a “splash”, improve the team, sell more tickets, stop being the laughingstock of the NHL, and repair your broken relationship with Columbus, FIRE YOUR FRONT OFFICE. Until you do that, anything you do will basically be nothing more than j**king off.

Correction. They lost all leverage the second they put Scott Howson in charge of making the deal. From that moment on, it was doomed to fail.
