Hey look, Ovi’s got a new lid

Sep 4, 2012, 1:05 PM EDT

The Washington Times is reporting that Alex Ovechin has a new haircut.

As you can see, it’s a short, military-style haircut.

When asked why the change, Ovechkin explained: “I’m one of the soldiers on the NHLPA.”

Ovechkin’s hair is expected to hold a conference call later today.

That’s awesome! “I’m one of the soldiers on the NHLPA” it’s clear the players want a season.

Wow! Didn’t know it was possible for him to get uglier.

Not that I find him particularly handsome but there are a hundred NHLers ahead of him in the Ugly Line.

He looks a lot meaner with the buzz cut, I’ll say that much.

Maybe its just the angle but his face looks really thin. Anyone know about his off season training?

off season training?…ovechkin? usually involves hamburgers and beer but looks like he was sweating in this picture so maybe he took the stairs for this interview. he looks terrible no matter what angle it is.

He has a funny definition of soldier. Then again, it could be only a matter of time before someone loses their sh*t and rolls up to a negotiation meeting with a grenade launcher.

Definitely not an attractive man but he does look better.
