Again. And when the sport crawls out of a hole in 12 months, it will look nothing like what we remember (if anyone cares at that point, which no one will). Contracts will be rolled WAY back. Bettman will be out. So will a few franchises. Just my guess.

This will get done as well. Probably similar to the NBA, which ended up only having a contracted season.

But all I got to say is when ONE game is missed, the fans and I get to hold up a giant sign saying we told you to start sooner, we said to be fair and not stupid, and then we should be able to threaten you with some sort of “fan-stoppage” but the truth is we actually LOVE hockey.

And face it, they have no reason to. In cities where NHL franchises belong people will be buying up tickets whether the season starts in October, January or 2014.

Sucks for the little people whose livelihood is directly impacted by the league, the fans (and the players too if they get locked out and lose one of the most lucrative years of their lives) but it’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
