no kidding…i’ve lived in va for 25 years and really miss the richmond renegades. norfolk is a joke and too far to make the drive worth it.

Maybe if the AHL team in the area actually packed the stands I’d consider it. But they don’t so….. move along.

i would find it surprising to hear there would be enough fan support to justify an nhl team…nba maybe so but not nhl. the demographic there is not that nhl friendly IMO. you have a lot of transient military folks w/ norfolk naval, oceana, yorktown, eustis, and many other smaller bases. the locals are more concerned with nascar out in chesapeake and into north carolina…and then you have your “urban” natives who would probably prefer a basketball team. i could see folks from richmond being loyal instead of having to trek 2 hrs to DC to see caps games but i really dont see any better of a situation than what they had in phoenix (and there’s more canadians in phoenix than virginia i can gaurantee that too).

I vote we give them the Coyotes and finally put that issue to bed!

But what would they be called – The ‘Virginia Beach Golfers’?
Logo – Titleist V1 with skates? Sand Trap with Teeth? Golf Tee with a Fin?

All tongue in cheek… ; )

But seriously folks – b4 the deal is done, I want to see the players put up their share of the 350 million.
Draft picks and Vets alike. Maybe this is the players chance to ‘be the owners’ and show the rest how they feel it should be done.
