Carey Price sure knows how to break his own news as well as hearts.

The Canadiens star goaltender announced he got engaged to his girlfriend on Twitter by posting a picture with the only comment being, “Surprise!”

As Stu Cowan of Hockey Inside/Out shares, Price and Angela Webber have been seeing each other for a long time and with Price having signed a new, big contract this summer now was as good a time as any to get hitched.

Here’s to hoping the female population of Montreal can withstand such a crushing blow to their lofty dreamboat hopes.
