Mike Richards takes Stanley Cup on a boat

Aug 18, 2012, 5:49 PM EDT

Add “Mike Richards‘ boat” to the list of places the Stanley Cup has been.

Philip Pritchard (aka “The keeper of the Cup”) passes along this photo of Richards “crusin’ Lake-of-the-Woods” in Kenora, Ontario.

Congrats, Los Angeles Kings fans. Apologies, Philadelphia Flyers fans.

As a Flyers fan I always liked Richards and I’m glad to see him win a cup. He was put into a Captain role too soon and is a good player on a good team not a franchise player like the Flyers made him. Congrats Mike.

No need to apologize (or troll Mr. O’Brien). Most Flyer fans are happy for Richie and are happy with the trades.

That’s right…it was a huge hit to lose both Night Train and Schenn in the trade, but it did pay immediate (and obvious) dividends for the Kings, and will pay huge dividends as well for the Flyers in the future.

      Both teams benefited.

Could not agree more, the dude never wanted to be the number one guy in Philly,, only at the bars ! So let him ride around the lake all alone just him and the cup ! If a cup rides around on THE LAKE OF THE WOODS does anybody see it ????

I see what you did there…

but it is very doubtful, that lake is HUGE!

Do you really mean congrats to the the 3 Kings fans who come to this site or the hundreds of Flyer’s fans who make up 80% of your traffic? Pretty lame attempt on your part to get Flyer’s fans all up in arms about Richards winning the cup so your story will look like it got tons of attention.

Ha ha, you really have no idea how many Kings fans come to this site…using your words, pretty lame attempt at belittling one of the oldest and most loyal fan bases in the league.

Your numbers are way off. Get a clue, moron. The Kings just won the Stanley Cup. Of course there is continual interest on the part of Kings throughout the summer, why wouldn’t there be?

      Amazing. Just amazing.

I was not belittling Kings fans at all or their fan base. Do you come to this site? It is filled with Flyers related articles. They are also the articles that generate the most conversation by far. Get a clue, moron.

I have no problem with the Kings winning the cup or their fans being proud.

I’m a Flyers fan and I’m happy for Richards. I never bought into the fact that he was the problem. If Flyers had goal-tending in 2010 they would have won the cup easy with Richards as the captain so I don’t buy into all the crap that he wasn’t ready to be a captain.. I still love the return the Flyers got for Richards.

If I had my choice we would’ve kept Richie but still sent underachieving Carts to LA

    • sportsfreak13 - Aug 20, 2012 at 9:02 AM

You sent “Carts” to columbus who then sent him to LA for jack johnson.

Yea, no way I’m bitter. Richie’s game was liked by most, if not all, in Philly. Carter was a one trick pony but Richie had an all-around game. It is what it is. Glad to have Lil Wayne Simmers (like that isn’t obvious ha) and Baby Schenn here in Philly.
