When I read it, that’s what I was thinking about. If he was investing in the real estate market, there was a period where people made a lot of money buying and flipping properties. It worked good until the merry-go-round decided to stop and people were left holding over-priced property and took a bath.

So even if they did manage everything fine, it may have gone south anyways with the bust. But given how bad they look, Heatley would probably win anyways.

I’m not sure about Canada, but here in the States, a lot of real estate ventures have gone south over the last several years

the departed’s mother had plenty to say and knew nothing good would come of “suing” his ass. Most people in this world care for more things than money, this mother, cared for her child.

He was driving recklessly. So yes he should have been charged with something. If it was you or me we probably would have been. That’s just how it is.

You do not know Heatley personally, nor do I, or probably anyone on these boards. So stop acting like he did something to you or your mom / dog / boyfriend / whatever. He’s a hockey player, not your cousin.

It sounds like Heatley trusted the wrong person and I hope however this plays out, the person in the wrong gets his someday. I do not know the situation well at all so I will not start to point the finger but it doesn’t look good for McAlpine.

Heatley is a pro’s pro. He is well liked by his teammates. I’ve never heard or read one bad thing about him since he’s joined the Wild. All you hear is positive stuff.
