I said most of the Sharks. Couture is a young stud and Thorton is getting old, but anyone else isn’t better. How have the Sharks faired the past few years with those “good” players?? The Flyers got young studs, no bodies last year and are a team to beat for years to come. Where are the Sharks?? Has beens besides Couture. Clowe’s not horrible, but he’s nothing special.

Why would they want to trade Briere? The guy shows up EVERY playoffs in a BIG WAY! Briere will always be a Flyer.

You are right,. Flyers can never have enough big power forwards. Hartnell isn’t going anywhere. The Flyers want to grind opponents down, you need more then just Simmonds to do that. You need a big forward on each line. I fully expect Flyers to sign Hartnell to an extension. Plus you can’t underestimate Hartnell’s presence in the locker room. He is a funny guy and helps with team chemistry.

He didn’t have the best playoffs, but did you watch the playoffs from two years ago? He was an absolute force for the kings that year. Who knows what kind of injuries he had this year. This kid is a good player.

I see what you’re saying but remember, the amount of $ they gave him isn’t top line money. Its money you give a good 3rd line guy that is serviceable on the PP. If they gave him $8-9M a year, then yeah, thats dumb, but $4M for a 23 year old 20 goal/20 assist grinder is definitely worth it.

Nearly impossible for them to trade Briere, he has a NMC and gets paid a decent amount. While he hasn’t done great in the regular season he has done great in the playoffs.

Unless they can trade Briere. There’s the cap space for Hartsy’s extension right there. Let’s be honest, playoff surprises aside, Danny did not have a great year and with all the young players on the roster he will continue to be marginalized.

My problem with this deal is the he was absolutely terrible in the playoffs. Sure he had some points but he was awful on the defensive side. He was responsible for a ton of goals against. He shouldn’t even have been dressed for the last series. He needs someone to teach him defense and Lavy certainly isn’t doing it.

Simmer deserved this contract and will earn every bit of it with his grittyness and goal scoring. Sjsharks, how are the Sharks making out?? Do they still have a team in San Jose?? Simmer is better than just about everyone on the Sharks, so stop trolling and worry about your $hitty team. They need all the help they can get. Talk about falling off.
