This is the one guy Vancouver must sign. Burrows and Higgins were the only ones that didn’t mail it in for stretches last year.

As someone noted above, the finger-biting business was pure comedy and “good times” were had by all as a result ! Anyone who seriously equates that with the “nightly” boarding from behind, is either an idiot or they’re pulling your leg. Anyway, I’m not a Canucks fan as such, though I watch them even more than my beloved LA Kings. The bottom line is that the Canucks “must and will” resign Burrows, as he’s an excellent player and he’s an integral part of their team. So it’s a given that they’ll come to an amicable agreement …

So you think a Selke winner in Kesler is worth less then 5 Mil? Thats a steal for him.

Hamhuis and Garrison both took way below market value, I mean look at Widemans deal.

Salo signed a huge hometown discount last year and Chris Higgins also signed a really cheap deal.

Both goaltenders are paid way below market value as well, Luongo’s Cap hit is actually pretty low.

the endless repetition of this “fairy tale” Vancouver/below market value/hometown discount makes it not more true. The Sedins are the only exception.

This guy deserves a raise, he’s stepped up when he’s needed to, scored in clutch situations, and is a good guy to have on your team. Awful to play against, but the hometown crowd loves a player like this. Probably 4.5 mil for 4-5 years.

I think Burrows will get a good raise, but he will still be below the open market value. Vancouver has consistently resigned their top players for fair money, but less than what it is believed they would receive as unrestricted free agents.

I am a Canucks fan and I still cringe every time I see the replay.. Come on how many players have A) Called out a Ref B) Bit a Finger C) Pulled someones Hair

I cant think of many players that have done ONE of those things, let alone all three. Hes a hell of a hockey player but lets his emotions get the better of hime.

I love how biting a gloved finger has propelled Burrows to villainy that surpasses the likes of players who make career-ending illegal plays.

After all of the crap he put management through, IE Calling out a ref (He was right, but this broke some unwritten rules of the game) and Biting, I would say he isnt in line for too much of a raise.

If it wasnt for Canucks Management he would likely still be on a ball hockey team..
