Nothing is said as to whether the AHL will abide by it. Teams SHOULD be allowed waivers for 1-2 players. Right now I’d say 1-2 players on the Isles would be Ryan Strome and Nino Niederreiter. Nino really should have been in the AHL last year and would have avoided the nightmare season he had.

Ryan Johansen could’ve played in the AHL where he belongs instead of the pressbox.

And AHL development is actually really the only reason I wouldn’t mind a short lockout. It was great for a lot of teams when a lot of their 20-somethings got to play great minutes in the AHL with no urgency from the big club.
