I don’t see how anyone can defend this overpaid troll, and if there’s another lockout, I don’t see how he should be able to keep his job. 3 lockouts in 18 years should speak for itself. The league commissioner should work for what’s best for the LEAGUE and not be a shill for the owners or the players or any other special interest.

not saying im a fan of bettman but how is the league watered down? hockey has never been better then it is right now in terms of player talent and fan viewership. There is not one player in the nhl who doesnt deserve to be there. The amount of work you have to put in to get to the nhl is unbelievable it doesnt matter if they play 1 game or 1000 games no player is in the nhl because they dont belong there and dont knock the ahl because thats where a lot of todays stars played at one point

the thing with his salary getting released is what do you think the players will think about that salary? but i agree he dose work for the small market owners to keep them close to the rest of the league those owners better pay him. But if there is no season where dose that get anyone?

knowing the nhl is blowing that much on the yots is ridiculous they should have gone to Winnipeg when they had the chance lets face it the only time they get fans in the stands is playoff time and yeah i know you see that all around the league and being from detroit you see it alot here to but those seats are sold people just dont go to the game.

but he should cap himself at 6 million

I’ll give Bettman this – he works hard to save the owners money. So from that perspective it makes sense that the owners pay him,pay him well and give him a bump in pay when he achieves that objective. Bettman knows the hands that feed him.

And, if the NHL gets its way in this round of bargaining and sticks it to the NHLPA on the point that really matters to the owners ($$), Bettman’s salary/bonus will skyrocket even more!
