Leafs will still blow. They will get luongo (if the season starts on time) at the deadline. When his stock is high and demand is high.
Gillis is a great gm if he gets good value for luongo

Gillis has done absolutely NOTHING to improve the franchise. Yet he won GM of the year some time back = overrated.

How the hell is Gillis overrated?
Your an idiot. He signed the Sedins to 6.1 M each, he constantly gets players to come to Vancouver @ a highly reduced cost.

Yet somehow he’s overrated…

Obviously goaltending is the biggest issue, but secondary scoring is also important.

I think playing JVR as a top-line centre is not smart. Kessel and Lupul provide enough firepower on their own so JVR’s greatest impact would probably ccome as a second line winger being fed by Grabovski.

They’re still not making the playoffs until they address the goaltending, but they should be better than last year.

Burke = most overrated GM (beside Gillis).
They really should go after Bernier

I don’t see them improving much unless their prospects can make an impact and be responsible at both ends. The forwards will be ok, but goaltending and overall team play will still be big question marks.
