You can say it’s an automatic match, but everyone knows the Red Wings need a stud on the blue line, and they have more cap space than the Caps, according to Capgeek.com. The Rangers also have more cap space and a history of writing big checks. There’s gotta be a point where re-signing becomes untenable for the Capitals.
