If the NHL was still calling penalties like they did the 1st year after the lockout Gill would have been done a few years ago. With the league unofficially relaxing all the call on defenseman for impeding the forwards Gill can still manage to be a respectable NHLer. I think Gill paired with Ellis can be a good D pairing. Gill was paired with Subban 5 on 5 a good bit with the Habs and in worked out.
