oldsoldier... these Winnipeg Jets have done something that the Thrashers barely had a whiff off...

They are competitive!!!

Atlanta and Columbus were two teams in the league that others licked their chops when playing.

Not True with the Jets.

I agree, they have some serious work to doo... but in 1 year sir, Winnipeg has done good things.

Proud of their performance? Finishing with 84 pts, 4 more than the year before was proof of new chemistry and focus????/

I am in Winnipeg and this is the one issue that consistently annoys me is that fans are so glad to have the Jets back they are blind to any and all issues. The comment above is the perfect example....bragging that the 22nd place team is an example of how to rebuild.

The team is what it its. A team of 2nd and 3rd liners, with the exception of Evander Kane (who still hasnt signed his offer after over a month). And if you seriously try to defend Jokinnen and Andropov and Burmistrov as top line material then I have to question whether you have any more hockey background than they had in Atlanta. The team is weak overall defensively and overpaid for a very average goaltender.

And despite all the wishful thinking, the Jets do not have organizational depth. Organizational depth is when you have a player who is or can be slotted to play all top 9 forward and top 4 defence positions. The teams overall prospect depth has been ranked 25th by HockeyFutures (Behind both Calgary and Toronto), 26th by TSN , and 24th by The Hockey News.

Their biggest aquisition is Jokinnen???? Let go by a team who doesnt have a single 1 or 2 C.

I would love to see the Jets be successful, and I have no doubt they will be one day, but to make ridiculous predictions and projections simply because you are grateful they are back is asinine, and will lead to even worse possible future implications.

Lostpuppy... lesson in alphabet... C is not D or G - you're usually a better reader than that!!!!

Again - scoring/offense was not their weakness.

It was... and still is... Defense and Goal.

Oh, but they did. With Jokinen, they have a bonafide 2nd C. Last year they bounced C's around a lot, with the exception of Little. Now they can ride Ladd-Little-Wheeler, and Kane-Jokinen-Machacek(?). Actually, I'm more concerned about who's gonna fill Glass' skates. Poni should be a nice addition as well. Scheifele can maybe start as 3rd line C. The Jets will have a better team this year for sure. I drink the Chipman/Chevy Kool-aid and I have every confidence in their abilities. GO JETS GO!

Jets should be proud of their performance so far.

They've proven that 'chemistry' doesn't require a TON of time (and can be used as a lame and lagging excuse). It requires proper focus, REAL player development, and putting players in their position of strength.

My only knock is that at 12th in the league in scoring... they needed help w D and in Goal.

Don't see that they improved either of those very much.
