It's funny that Nashville had such similar goaltenders. Not only in build, but athleticism, style, and skills. I know what Yzerman was thinking here. He sees a potential number 1 out of a goalie trending to the future style of size + athleticism = hard to score on. There's a good chance that he'll get in net and own it but, at least he won't be worse than what Tampa had last year...that's for sure. So an improved defense and a (worst case scenario) slightly improved goaltending means Tampa should have less trouble on the bubble for the playoffs. Should Lindback post a .920 or better...Tampa should have everything needed to move deep into the playoffs.

And we joke around about Roloson but forget how incredible he was for the Lightning last year, and how great his entire career was. It was a shame to see it end with such poor numbers and play, but he helped bring hope back to Tampa and show them their weaknesses to build a stronger team.

I think he'll do great. Yes he is young and may have a rough season or two, but give him time to grow. I loved having him back up Peks in Nashville. He was a solid, young netminder to spell Rinne throughout the season. He'll help make Tampa into a contender in the not so near but not far off future.
