barkar – 1) you reference a blog written by a guy pretending to be a squirrel. 2) nothing written in that blog that wasn’t written here weeks ago 3) Howson has no reputation left to destroy. The entire NHL and all of Columbus knows what he is – a running joke. The fans have carried signs, held gatherings, and chanted to have Howson fired. The point of the squirrel blog, and, again, it’s a point that has been brought up here, was Howson fell on his sword to protect Mike Priest, the president, and McConnell the owner. No shock there, really. Which leads me to the final question – what does any of this have to do with Rick’s ad?

Perhaps even though Howson threw Rick under the bus at the trade deadline, interesting articles I found here-

If any of the reported issues in part 2 are true, Rick held all the cards and Howson had no choice but to take what he got from the Rangers in return or risk being called out and his reputation destroyed by Nash.

I know this seems like standard practice for tenured athletes leaving a city, but it really is a nice gesture for the fans. I still remember how much it meant to see Doc’s letter to Toronto after he left.

Columbus does, in fact, have fans. On the downside, certainly not as many as Philadelphia. Philly is the 5th largest city and Columbus is the 15th, based on population. But, on the upside, we were never voted the worse fans in America.

I doubt they’ll boo him in his return he didn’t walk away for nothing they got what management wanted I guess plus there’s no one else in franchise history they can be proud of like Nash I’m sure most CBJ fans are rooting for him to win a cup come playoff time.

3 Athletes in 3 days. Victorino’s classy ad to us diehard Phillies fans, Dempster’s classy ad to the diehard Cub fans and now Nash’s short but sweet ad to, ummm Columbus has fans?? Either way, all three are the right thing to do after spending a period of time with one team.

After seeing the flying Hawaiian do the same thing yesterday, he decided to do his own. It’s classy and I know Shane isn’t the first athlete to do this, I just think in Nash’s head he was like, oh yeah I should do that as well after seeing it.
