He isn’t an idiot because he isn’t signing anywhere yet, he is an idiot if he goes back to the Coyotes.

You seriously don’t think he could be the missing piece on a contender? You are seriously mistaken. He isn’t the Doan of old but he is one of best leaders in the NHL and he can still put up 50 points on the Coyotes, think what he could do on The Flyers, Rangers, Penguins, Canucks, Red Wings or Kings (and others). He could easily do 50+ points over the next few years. With his leadership and point ability, he could very well be a HUGE missing piece to a number of franchises.

2×5 is way more than fair considering his age and his likely diminishing production, plus the fact that hes never really been an offensive juggernaut at any point in his career, rather just a pretty good player (over the last 3 years he’s averaged exactly 20 goals and 60 points) I’d even think 2×4 is a quality offer.

It seems though that every few days his camp leaks another story of a team being “a front runner” which likely means he’s not getting anywhere near the offers that he wants so instead they leak these stories to try and get someone to get interested.

I don’t see why a player would be an idiot just because he doesn’t sign when you want him too.
It really won’t matter where he ends us, he’s 35, and he’s not like the “missing piece”…..

What leads you to believe that he thinks the world revolves around him? He is player who wants to stay with the Coyotes but their ownership is in limbo. He also is trying to get the most money possible. Would you take less money just to appease fans and not string things out? No. You would attempt to get the most money humanly possible while accounting for less important factors such as location, chance of winning a championship ETC.
