PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

Now that they’re teammates, Buffalo’s Patrick Kaleta and Steve Ott have “buried the hatchet.” (Calgary Sun)

The Philadelphia Flyers weren’t able to get Ryan Suter or Shea Weber this summer, but they might still end up adding a top-tier defenseman. (CSN Philly)

Jaroslav Janus, a goaltending prospect with the Tampa Bay Lightning, is expected to spend the 2012-13 campaign in Europe. That solves a potential AHL logjam and sets up Dustin Tokarksi and Riku Helenius as the Syracuse Crunch’s probable netminders. (Tampa Bay Times)

Alex Biega has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Buffalo Sabres. (Sabres’ Official Site)

CSN Washington took an in-depth look at which goaltenders might represent Team USA in the 2014 Winter Olympics. Of course, the list is based on the hope that the NHL will agree to participate in the Sochi Games. (CSN Washington)

Kyle Turris prayed for Daniel Alfredsson‘s return when he went to bed every night. (Ottawa Sun)

      Folks –

Don’t respond to his posts, no matter which screen name he uses.
Don’t even ‘thumbs down’ his comments.

Some people thrive on attention, negative or positive. Even a thumbs down is validation to them.

      Ignore and don’t rate.

true as that may be for last year, it’s still funny coming from a fan of a franchise whom made a living doing this decades ago.

For the record, here in Pittsburgh (amongst the REAL hockey fans), nobody refers to any part of the Penguins as “Soup Can Army”. I thought that was worth clarifying….

Im pretty sure decades ago the whole league was dirty. Philly was just better at it and it earned them two cups
