I get a kick out of reading the daily PHT rumors of everyone acquiring Jay Bouwmeester, while the local media up here believes that he’ll be kept. The truth is the Flames likely can’t afford to trade him at this point, he eats up 28 minutes of ice time per game and is an incredibly fluid skater, and yes while he is overpaid because he’s not producing the offense they thought he would when they signed him, he’s been a pretty good and steady defensive player.

It’s all about the young guys this year. If they can make the jump (which I think they will) our team will finally make the playoffs.
