This is ridiculous. Some of the Buffalo fans on this thread really show to be fair-weather bandwagoneer fans. Buffalomafia, a term that hadn't been coined until this season, you have no clue. You give true Sabres and Bills fans a bad name. Kaleta is the hardest working Sabre on the roster, next to Gerbe. He plays full speed, obviously gets under the skin of his opponents, and has a small offensive touch. His biggest asset is that he is fearless!! Have you seen the shots he's blcoked? After he broke his hand in a fight, I think 2 years ago, the game he came back, he blocked a shot with that very hand. Or that puck he took to the knee on the PK last season? I was afraid the signing of Scott meant the end of him, but he is a very valuable piece to this Buffalo roster and am Glad they locked him up for the 3 years. Opponents hate to play against Kaleta. He plays on the edge, and he is never afraid to cross the line. These are the types of players Buffalo needs, not the gutless whiners that resemble Derek Roy...

I don't know how you can be happy with the state of the team. People aren't bandwagoners because they want/expect excellence. You brought up how golisano wouldn't fork up the cash for players. We now have an owner who will. We have the longest tenured coach in the NHL, who has achieved practically nothing. One presidents trophy, a few eastern conference championships and no cups. We've made the playoffs less than we have in his tenure. He needs to go. Trading Roy the crap we got? A joke. Regeher can draft well, but the franchise can't attract free agents at all hardly. We got Leino (garbage) and ehrhoff because we overpaid for them. The core is great but the atmosphere needs to change. Players who's performance disappears quite often for long periods of time is getting old. Pomonville, Roy, stafford, vanek, Myers and even miller. These are guys who seem to disappear for 20 games at a time, although I don't blame miller because it's not always his fault. Kaleta almost never puts up points, yeh he tries hard but he isn't worth half of what he's being paid. You're complaining about fans wanting more, and wanting what they deserve. Our ticket prices and merchandise is some of the highest in the league. We live in a hockey town. We have a hockey atmosphere. We've been promised results for the last four years since the few years runs with drury and briere. There has been none. We have the same brass besides the owner forever. Our roster appears nowhere near close to being a cup contender. We are lacking at center, yeh we have prospects... Who need to develop. We're lacking scoring, now we have toughness. Either way, you're complaining about fans who aren't happy, I've been a sabres fan for almost 20 years, I'm not happy. And I don't blame fans who pay a lot of money to support this franchise and haven't gotten results, not even one freaking cup win.

coming from buffalo, people there cry like a spoiled little kid. they want everyone gone, and expect big name players to come here for nothing all because we have a new owner. the impatience and the scrutinizing of my franchise is really getting on my nerves.

kaleta is great on the pk, and honestly isnt that bad of a puck mover. always willing to dig into the corners and put his body up for sacrifice when shots are blasted on miller. the agitation is just a plus. for years we've lacked toughness and fans complain. now that we sign toughness, fans are complaining that we arent pulling in scoring.

someone explain it to me. darcy is doing a great job with this franchise. alwyas had. remember people, he was the one that brought in miller, and drury, and briere, and campbell, and stafford, and vanek, and foligno, and ennis, and myers. its not his fault that he lost a few of those names. remember when galisano owned the team and would only fork the cahs for those he wanted too? why do you think larry quinn was brought in a an assistant gm when he was an owner?

also, do you think its darcy regiers fault that players are either A) asking for an unreasonable amount of cash for their services or B) gm's are asking for an unreasonable amount to trade their assets? no it's not. not at all. giving up five players for bobby ryan is ridiculous, and paying 8 million a year for a 35 year old WINGER (not what we needed) is a waste of cash.

oh yea, enroth is no where near ready to play a full season. vaneks bloated contract (thanks to edmonton) wont be absorbed by another franchise. there are no other well suited coaching candidates to replace ruff, and if we release him he would be picked up in a second. same for the gm's. and for those of you expecting the rochester americans coach to step in, remember its a different league with a different skill set.

dont blame a year plagued with injuries on the gm, coach, or the players. sabres fans saw what this team plays like when they're on a roll, and we weer two games short of the playoffs. if you dont like the moves, move on to a different team. i have no more patience for you bandwagoners.

PEACE.

Nothing wrong with this signing...he's a 4th line / role player with decent skills, some scoring, and fills a specific need of the overall team.
