Hockey in the desert just never catches on .I mean i feel sorry for the few thousand Yotes fans .
But really time to lay this beaten horse to rest pumping money in to a town that either has little or no interest in hockey is pathetic.Good club the few thousand faithful fans in Phoenix will miss them but unless you can increase season ticket sales by say 5 times their current level and be consistent then it's time to get out of dodge for the Coyotes IMO.

It wasn't just that the Hawks were bad. The breakup of 90s team just told many fans that Dollar Bill would never again put a serious emphasis on winning, and I believe he made good on that.

Sure they were getting better, but it's no surprise that the excitement started ramping up once WW died and it became clear his son was both reaching out to spurned fans and bringing the team into the 21st century, were we could enjoy trivial things like, say, broadcasting a majority of their games on TV.

Anyway, I'm digressing, and I actually agree that they need to try to keep the Jackets in Columbus. But Phoenix? I'm still not convinced.

Dear Commissioner Daly;

While my friends and I are avid fans of the Phoenix Coyotes, and would like them to stay, we now agree this train wreck of a team has to leave Arizona and find a new home elsewhere.

This has been 3 years of a roller coaster ride, with no end in sight any time soon. As fans we are tired, tired, tired of all the BS. All the suing, and then Jamison has the money, and now he doesn't have the money. If you desperately want to keep the Coyotes here, as you so often state in the Press, then drop the price $20 million so Jamison has got his money, and get on with it. Otherwise, as the old adage goes, "either s--t or get off the pot.

This has got to end.

Any future or potential fans you might have drawn in with a terrific season the Coyotes had, you are furthering alienation by allowing this travesty to continue on.

Either help Jamison by dropping $20 million off the price tag, or remove the team. We are fed up here in Arizona and want an end to this agonizing problem, and pronto.

Give Don Cherry the job in clb... It would be an improvement over Howson.

Cherry: hey LA, I will trade you 3 first rounders for that Richardson guy.
LA: Deal
Cherry: good ol Mike Richardson, for a few picks I get a former flyers captain
MacLean: you mean Mike Richards?
Cherry: right... So who did I just get for 3 picks then?

Have you ever been to a game in Columbus, or are you just parroting what you've heard? Let me say that I'm NOT a Blue Jackets fan. I've been to a lot of games in Columbus, and I think it's underrated in a lot of ways. Very nice arena in a great location. As for attendance numbers, can you blame the fans who have slowly stopped coming? One playoff appearance in team history will do that to any fan base.

I had Blackhawks season tickets from 1998-2004 when I moved away. Look up their record during that time span. I knew everyone in my section on a first name basis, because there were probably 10 of us. I'm a Blackhawks fan to the bone, and I have the tattoo to prove it. It kills me when people talk about how great of a hockey market Chicago is...it isn't. As soon as the Hawks start losing, or as soon as one of the "core" is moved, fans will stop coming, just like they did in the mid-90's. The United Center when the Hawks were bad makes Nationwide Arena in Columbus look like a sold out Rolling Stones concert.

The Blue Jackets do have fans...I've seen and met them. They're dying for a reason to start going to games again. While I can't back fair-weather fans, all markets have them. Can you blame someone for not wanting to shell out $30-100 per game on that organization as it is currently? From your username, I'm assuming you're a Flyers fan. Let them finish dead last for a decade, with an inept front office and a roster of 3rd liners...see how thriving that market would look.

Um, what?

The "Goldwater nonsense" as you put it is to stop politicians from giving away public funds to whoever purchases the Yotes, as that is against the law in Arizona. And I can't really fault them.

Why should the public give their money to some gazillionaire in order to let the gazillionaire own the local sports team? If it's the public's money, just let the public own the team and reap the benefits. To many of these recent deals to purchase the Yotes read that as soon as the owner risks losing money the taxpayer forks over funds to the owner to cover the loss.

Did someone say Columbus is a thriving market, or would be with the Coyotes there?? Are you high or just blind?? Even with the Flyers or a big market good team in Columbus it would still be a horrible market for Hockey. This whole ownership thing in Phoenix is just dragging out Doan's decision of signing with another team. It's been deadline after deadline. Just give it up so Doan can move on to a Contender and not have to keep waiting to see if Phoenix still has a team and all. It's just annoying now that it keeps dragging on and on. It's as bad as someone saying Columbus has a thriving market.

I disagree with the comparison. A market like Phoenix deserves a franchise like the Blue Jackets and a market like Columbus deserves a franchise like the Coyotes.

If they could just trade places we'd have another well-run NHL team in a thriving market and whatever the hell is going on in Phoenix would be circling the toilet bowl of NHL franchises, either to finally relocate or just force the NHL to contract and be done with it.

Like someone else said the last time this came up: Sorry, (not enough) Phoenix fans.

I don't believe Phoenix will last in the long run. I really don't. This seems like a stopgap owner solution that won't extend long enough...and I don't think the owners will spend the money to keep Phoenix competitive, at the very least.

Once there's an arena finished that could support them (Quebec City or Seattle, for example), I think they'll be moved or folded at that point. I'm sorry, Phoenix fans...but unless a serious and big time investor steps forward, I don't know that you're going to keep your team. : /

Does anybody actually believe Phoenix will last in the long run? Unless Shane Doan has $20 million to give to Mr. Jamison, I don't see how Phoenix makes anything worth while happen this off season. I think they will float around with uncertainty for 2 or 3 more seasons, but the move will happen eventually. Sorry to the Yotes fans, but it is time to really grow the game and move on.

The NHL and future Yote owners (and eventually sellers) can keep doing this until 2015, by then the Quebecor Arena will be completed and ready for an NHL team. So stay losing money in the desert, find some sucker who will buy the team and be ready to sell again in 3 years. Because a NHL team WILL be back in QC when that stadium is complete. And have an ownership that is worth nearly 10 billion rather than these groups struggling to come up with 20 million.

Good news? No. Good news would be the deal is done. How many deadlines have come and gone since this thing started? It's not bad news but I sure wouldn't be getting my hopes because of this. The one year of $25mil to cover losses happened what 3 times? This just strings along Coyotes fans. Maybe eventually it will end.
