Luongo update: Canucks GM says there’s “nothing new to report”

With the Rick Nash trade done and Shea Weber‘s offer sheet deadline approaching, Roberto Luongo‘s situation is likely to dominate rumors and headlines. Vancouver Canucks GM Mike Gillis covered a wide range of topics with The Globe & Mail and radio station Team 1040 on Monday, yet he didn’t provide a substantial Luongo update.

Gillis insisted that it wouldn’t be a disruption to keep Luongo around into training camp, according to the Vancouver Province’s coverage of that Team 1040 interview. Furthermore, he told David Ebner that there’s “nothing new to report.”

“As you get closer to the season, things begin to pick up as teams see their needs,” Gillis said. “We’ve been given solid offers. Nothing we would do today. We’re going to continue the process with the teams that are interested.”

The Columbus Blue Jackets decided not to wait until training camp kicked off to jettison Nash, even with a deal many believe fell short of Scott Howson’s stated goals. Gillis insists that the Canucks are willing to wait until “close to the season” – and maybe later – but time will tell if he’s just playing coy.

NEWS FLASH: THE WORLD IS NOT FLAT !

I also listened to this “anti-social” freak blab on today on Team 1040 Radio about his Luongo trade intentions, etc … and what a “total” joke that was ! The fact of the matter is, that nobody wants to purchase some aged, petulant “b-grade” goaltender for 54 million dollars ! Both Gillis and Luongo are “agents of greed’ and therefore they will now both reap “that which they have sown” ! Get lost you creeps I say, and while you’re at it, be sure to tell Lisa and Gina to “piss off” too eh ? :)

Is it safe to say you’re not a Bobby Lou fan? Me neither.

LOL. Hey Blomfeld. You sound like a total Gillis Hater that posts on the Province Sports Blog 24 hours a day everyday. Get well soon Buddy.

He’s a Kings fan. I’m not sure he has much to really hate right now.

A SUMMER THAT ABOUNDS WITH JOY !

Yes friends, words could never adequately describe the sheer “joy and bliss” which I and my fellow King’s fans are experiencing these days ! We’re the “best” team in the world and our future is even brighter that the glorious sun which beams down on us daily ! It’s a “wonderful” thing being an ardent “values-driven” fan of the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings ! :)

Now regarding this Gillis creature. I listen to this anti-social “misfit” every time he’s on Team Radio 1040 and never before have I ever heard a GM speak with such arrogance and contempt ! His words and demeanor literally “ooze” with disdain, regardless of the question or topic at hand. So no, I am not a Gillis hater as such. But what I am however, is a person who simply rejects “arrogance and condescension” from my fellow man !
