I never understood why these teams let him go – MTL and NJ. Must have just been disagreement on philosophy or the direction of the franchise. He produced good results with all those teams but was let go. He has produced good results with the Bs obviously. He has always been pretty consistent I think. Their loss, our gain, I guess…

True but the same can be said for a lot of things positively or negatively. Hockey is indeed a game of bounces at times. That said I, unlike a lot of media members, put more on the team losing three straight game 7′s than the coach. They were were generally a young gritty team without the playoff experience necessary. I think Julien puts a lot of trust into the Bruins to know their role and do their best. I recall one timeout when they were doing hideously and he didn’t even speak to the players, he let them figure it out. Every Bruin apart of those losses attributed the past learning experiences to their ability to succeed in 2011.

The only serious coaching flaw Julien has is the power play. Build it around Seguin and tell them to skate and move the puck god damnit!

If the bruins had lost to Montreal in 2011 leading to another game 7 elimination in the post season this time in the fort round instead of the second he would have been fired amazon how one goal change so much.

Bs solidifying franchise over the next few years with all the re-signings of players and coaches that won the cup. I don’t think a small injection of new talent is necessarily a bad thing for a winning team but, if healthy, the Bs current roster should be pretty strong. If Weber ends up in Philly, I can’t help but think the Bs feel ‘a little’ pressure to improve THIS season. That being said, they should still win their division and be a top three seed, not that that should be the goal but they’re in good shape.
