We’ve seen this movie before. The NBA and NBPA were so far apart on the money split that they kept trying to focus on small stuff that neither side was too concerned about. It’s confusing activity with achievement. Tackle the money and the rest will fall into place in short order.

This realignment needs to happen. Why should Minnesota and Dallas play the majority of their road games 2 time zones away?

Player safety? Not sure what that has to do with the NHL, do players want the word “not” bold and in italics in the rule book in front of phrases like “leave your skates” or “elbow to the head”? Players safety is about players respecting each other and not making hits that have a high likelihood of resulting in injury…not sure what more the NHL can do on that front.

Yeah and the 8, 8, 7, 7 conferences was just unbalanced and unfair that’s one of the many flaws with baseball is the unbalanced divisions and playoff qualifications not a good idea to follow in their footsteps.

The NHLPA rejecting reallignment makes even more sense now. It’s a useful bargaining chip for them to have.

i cant imagine them cancelling the season….the owners and players all know another strike would be catastrophic to the league. its way to soon to have another work stoppage and quite frankly i dont think the league could ever recover, i know a lot of fans will wash there hands of it. hockey would survive in the major markets, but the smaller ones would go bankrupt from another strike and the owners know that
