Charles … the key friend is to always look for what’s definitely there, yet not readily apparent to the majority … anyone can look at “that which has been” and draw conclusions accordingly, etc … but that’s the behavior of “herd like” sheep … don’t be a sheep man ! … Bernier is absolutely “incredible” and that’s something which can be easily deduced from the limited play he’s been afforded thus far … mark my words … this could be Columbus’ best signing ever !

He’s a franchise goalie now? Based on his stellar career to date? If other teams saw his as a franchise goalie, there might be more than one team bidding on him. Let’s see him play a full season before we get even close to that conversation. His value is based on potential.

He’s number 4 based on what? He’s done nothing to date. He’s not even top 10, as the sample size of his worth is almost meaningless. The trade is on his potential to be a franchise goalie. Nowhere close to that right now.

1) Quick
2) Schneider
3) Price
4) Bernier
5) Rask

Meanwhile, the three biggest “dopes” are without a doubt Luongo, Bryzgalov and that “mental case” Thomas ! And as far as that Swedish “beanstalk” Lundquist is concerned, to me he’s nothing more than an “over-rated” flake, playing for a highly “over-rated” team. Your support for Rask however is to be commended and therefore I will leave this discussion with my guns lowered …

Why make Lombardi out to be some kind of rip-off artist? If anyone got the better of Howson, it was Holmgren in the first Carter trade. Lombardi giving JJ and a pick for Carter seems pretty fair, in light of how Carter performed in the wake of the trade from Philly.

That trade would work out to Steve Mason, Jacob Voracek, Sean Couturier, Nick Cousins and what will likely be a late first round pick for Jack Johnson and Jonathan Bernier. That might sound like a lot of pieces, but it’s actually a good deal, especially considering Howson would have blown the picks and not taken a guy like Couturier.
