The publishing giant shared almost five minutes of gameplay footage today, spotlighting subtle changes in strategy and beefed up goalies:

I have been a big fan of this series since I can remember, they do a superb job at improving the gameplay every year. With that said I am particularly even more impressed this year, I cant wait to play.

gameplay looks great but I really hope they update the announcing a bit, it’s been the same for the last 5 years or so

The good ol skate down the side, then cut across and shoot trick worked every time in 94!!!

Is it Sept 11th yet?? I wanna see G on the cover and how amazing the game got from last years….they always tweak it and make it that much better.

The hockey geek in me is super excited to see neutral zone checking systems finally being utilized in the game. It’ll be fun trying to break through the 1-3-1 or the full on neutral zone trap.

Funny that I never realized that back skating was mostly absent from the previous games, and how much it clearly seems to add to the game. A lot of the animations (the goalie’s limbs especially) look great too

sales will be down this year since claudia the snaggle toothed sissy is on the cover. @SoupCanArmy should be on the cover.

The goalies and some other things look really great but the beginning of that video sure makes it look easy to just use the “speed skate” feature to easily just go around the defense. Doesnt seem like the computer AI knows what to do when the speed of the player changes.
Also skating backwards on the offensive zone with such ease is sure to create a lot of glitchy goals. Exactly like the last Kane goal they showed.

Doesn’t matter if the game plays well if it never loads which nhl 12 would do when trying to play franchise mode

Aww Pens fan is bitter Sissy Sidney isn’t on the cover. You have to play in the NHL, not be out with concussions, to be voted on the cover by the FANS. The refs don’t decide this one, so Sidney is screwed either way. G will show him up again this year.

You’ve always been able to skate backwards, it was just through Vision Control. This way seems a bit more responsive but it does not seem to be a huge addition. The goalies look great, though.
