I don’t know whether or not I would mind seeing him leave DC, but he needs to get his locker room presence under control. You only hear negative things about him and how he “doesn’t care”, yet he goes out and plays like a top 10 guy when he’s on. He’s been one of my favorite Caps over the past few years, but this off-season is changing my mind.

That is why I would take my one year contact with the canes. Less pressure and feed off of the Staal brothers. I think the talent is there. The mind set is not.

It would be something else if that was the case and he finally gets it. Of course changes in coaches, systems and benchings haven’t had an effect. So I have my doubts

He has signed 1 year deals the past 2 seasons and had a chance to make people eat crow….
How has that worked out so far?

Headliner in the KHL sounds about right

Sign this one year deal and and eat crow. Get back in the good graces of the league by proving people wrong. Cash in the year after. Or turtle and except the fact that your a headliner in the KHL.

I’d like to see him sign for a year in Calgary. They are consistently one of the lowest scoring teams in the league. They’re not going anywhere without more goals. Plus Semin is on a short leash. If he wants that mega-contract in the NHL, he’s going to have to smarten up for a season. In Calgary, they’d give him every chance to score goals.

The canes could become a very dangerous team if they add semin. Him and a good role playing fourth liner could spell a deep playoff run for carolina

Mercy me who could have ever foreseen this happening to Semin despite his ability to score goals?
Just a few of us non kool-aid drinkin’ actually hockey watching types. LordFletcher I think was always on board to the reality of Semin as a FA, a few others.

The best teams in the league are taking a pass on Semin and now he’s left pan-handling other clubs in hopes of a 2 year deal and he can’t even get that.
