Thank you for actually watching what went wrong in the playoffs instead of blaming Elliott. The defensive play (forwards and defense) did not play as a group like they did during the season. Part of that I thought was due to the extra pressure of losing the opening games at home and also trying too hard when Petro was out. Game 1 was close until the penalty where Petro got hurt. Did not play the same way after that. Game 2 was trying to do too much and failing and then losing all composure. Game 3 was more on Elliott than any other game. Still, the defense gave up too many opportunities. Game 4 was just another game that could have gone either way. Stupid d-zone turnover led to the first goal and gave the Kings even more confidence. I hope the Blues are better prepared mentally for the playoffs next year.

Halak and Elliott are good goalies, but they are only part of the Blues defensive success. They were good for a while because all 5 skaters were hounding the puck and they rarely gave up good scoring chances...during the playoffs, especially after losing AP, their defense completely broke down, regularly leave guys all alone in front of the net.

The Blues have a good team no doubt but their success was mostly attributed to Halak/Elliott, and goaltending was pretty much the reason they got eliminated in the playoffs other than the fact that they ran into the power house that was the kings which happened to win the whole thing anyway so they shouldn't feel too bad.

With all due respect to those decent, values-driven and loyal Blues' fans, nobody really gives a hoot about this stuff ! As far as we Kings' fans are concerned, Saint Louis was nothing more than "victim # 2" on our glorious march to Cup victory this year ! We wish you people well, but God help you, should we ever meet again "up there on the high ground" ...

They've got as good of a chance as anybody. If they can get their top forwards healthy and play for most of the season it will help out with out scoring woes. I'm still not sold on Oshie, I know most fans are hoping they can get him signed to a long term deal at a good price, but I don't think it's going to happen. He's shown his immaturity over the past few years and has a big ego, big enough to the point where he probably thinks he's worth more than what he really is. I wouldn't mind seeing them package him with some other young talent, they are pretty loaded with it, and trade for a top level player. The Blues have sat back and watched all the top free agents sign elsewhere without much of a push to get them in St.Louis over the past few years. I think the new ownership needs to do it as many fans have been getting frustrated with the lack of effort in the free agent/trade market. Most players that have played there have always said how much they like living there so I dont think they will have as much trouble getting the commitments that most people think.

Possibly. Mcdonald(missed 57), Perron(missed 25), and Steen(missed 39) are anchors in the blues offensive production. I think both Mcdonald and Perron will hit or get very close to 60 point mark while Steen probably 50 or around their. I think Oshie will improve his offensive numbers as well but not by much. I think Taresenko can be a 40-55 point guy, he lit the KHL up as a 20 year old. I also think if they get a top paring left handed d man to play with Petro would help with puck moving and power play because that player will have to be able to move the puck because that's what both Army and Hitch want.
