This is true. A few years ago, I was arguing with a friend through my videogame (a Habs fan, that chump) how Bernier was the future of my franchise. I told him **** that, Quick is already the Man. I’m quite happy to see that I was right in this case, but there is no question that Bernier has massive potential.
In case of injury, it would be nice to have a more than solid replacement in Bernier, but it could also be wise to receive maximum trade value while we can get it.

If this goes through I’m just afraid of what would happen if god-forbid Quick ever went down. Martin Jones would be the guy but he’s no Quick or Bernier, at least not yet. If we trade him hopefully we either get high draft picks or good prospects or both.

I don’t see that happening, wingsfan40. The ‘Hawks won’t give up a 1st round pick for a guy who has only played 48 NHL games with a .910 when they’ve already got a starter in Crow whose got 122 NHL games with the same %, not to mention 8 playoff games with an even better % (.924). Crawford had a down year this past season, but I think the front office is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a ‘sophmore slump’, as am I.

chicogo bro no matter how much i want him to detroit det just signed gusstafson so unless you wanna have a goalie (howard) thts good and 2 back ups better say bye to gustafson and they just signed him they dont need anymore goalies they got 3 (howard gusstaf macdonald ) there trying to trade macdonald to)

I know, but this year it seems their only options are to either give up the farm for Luongo or go with Reimer and Scrivens. Neither is very appealing. If they can get Bernier for a reasonable price and have three potentially solid goalies in the fold I say it’s worth a shot.

The leafs don’t Want another young unproven goalie with potential like Reimer and bernier although bernier is probably better, but the leafs want an expirienced goalie that’s proven himself

Is it possible Steve Yzerman also picks up this guy? get 2X the chance of getting a #1 elite goalie, if both succeed then trade one. WIN-WIN. But I can just imagine how much he’s going to cost, probably way too much! I also expect Burke, Tambellini, and Howson to be in on Bernier, maybe even Brian Murray
