TIME FOR A CLIP ?

A metaphor could be made equating the Calgary Flames to some "lazy" hippie who's in need of a real "good" haircut ! ... and this Bouwmeester character would be the perfect place to start ! He, like the entire team save Jerome, are a bunch of under-achieving and over-paid has beens. Their perennial "incompetence" along with the likes of the Avs, Wild and Oilers, is the key reason why the Canucks have been able to attain "multiple" President Cup Championships ... though it could be argued that at least the Oilers and Wild are making an "effort" to improve ? Nonetheless, the fact is that these Flames are a disgrace and a disservice to the fair people of Calgary, who are deserving of so much more in my opinion.

He def isn't a bum or anything. Just dropped a lot from what he was 5 years ago. Back then jaybo being on the market would start a Nash/ Ryan like bidding war that could easily bring you a few great players since he was one of the biggest names in the game. Today maybe you get 2 good players for him, not nearly as big of a name as he was then but still effective in many was.

If the Flames trade Bouwmeester they're opening up 26 minutes a game that he plays, he's not worth how much he's getting bad but he's nowhere near as bad as some people seem to believe. The Wideman deal just made no sense to me, Giordano gives them offense from the point (he missed a big chunk of last year) and adding another offensive defenseman was fairly low on things to do list IMO. What they really need is some centers who can win faceoffs they're always between 25-30 in that category.
