San Jose would almost certainly have to include Joe Pavelski and/or Ryane Clowe, a first round draft pick, and a goaltender or top prospect in order to land Nash.

Sounds like another negotiation ploy by Columbus to try and pump up Nash’s value.

We all know the team that REALLY wants Nash is the Rangers. They refuse to meet the joke demands Columbus has, and probably figure once everyone else stop laughing at Columbus they will crawl back and accept a reasonable offer. So in an effort to force the Rangers hand, Columbus lets it “leak” that Nash is going to bring more teams into the mix. If the Rangers are that determined to get Nash, they might up their offer a little bit if they think other teams are coming into the mix.

The big question however, is if this is even true. Even if it is true, its still likely they won’t find a team willing to accept any deal Columbus currently wants.

You are seriouslly hopeless.

Nash wouldn’t refuse to play if not traded (would you pass up $8 million?), and I have no idea why you can’t drop that. However no one wants a guy playing for their team who REALLY doesn’t want to be there. Its poisonous to the whole team, and its worse when the guy has a monster cap hit.

So get a grip on reality man. Nash has to be traded and Columbus is gonna have to come back to reality themselves on the price.

Howson HAS to be ready to have Nash on the roster…or suspend him & toll his contract if he refuses to report. That is precisely what OTT did with Alexei Yashin, At the time, Yash was about the same age and had comparable stats. OTT suspended him when he refused to report and eventually traded him for Zdeno Chara and the 2nd overall pick that became Jason Spezza. Howson can get a fair price for Nash, but only if he hangs tough.
