So remember a couple of hours ago when we passed along Darren Dreger’s report that Jaromir Jagr wanted to play for the Canadiens?

Well, according to Rick Moffat of CJAD 800 in Montreal, the Habs aren’t interested

“Jagr not coming to ‪Habs. Agent and former Hab Petr Svoboda confirms [GM Marc] Bergevin called this morning to say no interest in Jagr,” Moffat tweeted.

Whether that’s that or it’s just negotiating remains to be seen – maybe the Habs are interested in Jagr, but not at $4 million.

    So much for that.

21 teams interested and he picks one that isn’t?

They don’t want to pay him 4 million dollars

Wisdom. 50-point one-way wingers don’t deserve that kind of money, especially when they’re only going to play sixty-some games between groin pulls. He’s good, but his greed surpasses his remaining talent substantially.

He doesn’t speak French. That is a deal breaker.

HE AIN’T THE ONLY “UNWANTED” ONE …

If it’s any consolation to Jagger, then he should take solace in the fact that apparently nobody wants Luongo either ? … I mean seriously, just what in the hell is going on here ? … I’ve been glued to our local TEAM 1040 “house radio” here for the past 24 hours, expecting to hear the big news break … and yet nothing ? … I’m starting to really wonder now about things ? … could it be that nobody actually takes Luongo and that he stays on here as a $55,000,000 back-up ? … man, talk about a “toxic” dressing room or what ! …

as far as Jagr is concerned, well too bad for him … the last thing the struggling Habs need at this point, is some aging “diva” who thinks the world is still his oyster …

I saw no reason to like the Marc Bergevin, buuuuuuuuut I can’t fault anything he has done so far. This is a good call. He is building a team, and Jagr is a distraction from that goal.

They can’t pay him the 4 million because they just spent 10 on Prust. Bahahaha

As a Flyers fan…….i’d take Jagr back definitely, but at half of what he wants. He’s still got magic hands and a big body. People couldn’t get him off the puck last year because of it. He needs to be along side a stud though, like he was with G. Otherwise he’ll play and look washed up. Goodluck to Jagr either way though, he was worth his money last year to help G mature.

Well there still 20 more imaginary teams that he thinks are interested in him.

Considering how he faded down the season, hell wait till about December before signing with someone. SOMEONE will pay for him and probably A LOT more than they should.

Fading star, great guy. He will land somewhere at 3.5M.

I’m a flyer’s fan and I can attest to this guy’s dying flame. He is a very committed and determined guy who put in so much extra time to training his body this year while on the flyers. (skating with weights on his body after practice etc) This would undoubtedly make any player better unless it is over training. You could see Jagr still has the hands and his shot but he does not have the stamina or health to play at a high level in this days NHL…He was good in the beginning of the season but slowed quickly and injured easily. He is not worth 4M but any could agent is gonna ask for a high number to start.
