PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

You can officially add the Los Angeles Kings to the list of teams hot after Zach Parise. (Los Angeles Times)

The Ottawa Senators want a piece of the Devils’ captain as well. (Ottawa Sun)

Meanwhile, we’ll know by 10 a.m. ET if Parise is headed for free agency. (Bob McKenzie)

The Predators feel their signing of Paul Gaustad sends a message that they’re serious about free agency. That or they’re serious about spending a ton of (silly?) money to get above the salary floor and be a cap team. (Tennessean)

Meanwhile, the Preds trepidatiously wait Ryan Suter‘s entrance to the free agent market today. (Tennessean)

Is this a “painfully thin” free agent market? (Buffalo News)

Bob Murray looks for big things to help improve the Ducks. Now if other GMs would stop ringing his phone off the hook for Bobby Ryan he could get to it. (OC Register)

Blues owner Tom Stillman has high hopes for his team in free agency to keep things rolling along. (Post-Dispatch)

Detroit’s free agent wishlist is actually pretty long today. Ken Holland better have a phone sewn to his ear today. (Detroit Free Press)

Meanwhile in Carolina, they’re excited by Jeremy Welsh and their prospect camp. (News & Observer)

Joe, its old news that the Kings have been looking to get Zach Parise.

Very old news. Where have you been?

At this point, if Zach goes out of conference it hurts way less – however if he goes to a division rival, Parise can go jump in a lake.

The only lake he will be jumping into, is Lake Minnetonka in MN. The house he and his wife built in MN ;)
