Because the NHL isn’t interested in voiding front-loaded contracts. They are interested in voiding contracts that have 5 years at the end paying the player 1 million per season after paying him over 6 for most of the deal.

AKA Trying to thin out the cap hit by adding many years and a VERY low rate of pay.

Who gives better front loaded contracts then Buffalo…check Myers and Ehrhoff.

How about both since we do have close to 21 million.

The way to do the contract largely front loaded would be around 10 years. The NHL isn’t going to care as long as the decreasing salary slowly goes down. Not from 12 million to 2 million to 600k in a span of 3 years with the intent to circumvent the cap.

so in other words, he’s coming to Minnesota. I don’t think anyone else is willing to pay him over 100 million like our owner is.

Every time I see “front-loaded”, I think “voided”. I wonder how Parise’s agent is going to slip such a contract by the commish.
