Actually the offside rule makes cherry picking impossible. Giving him breakaways and getting schooled means your defense sucks.

And he played with the best player in the world for a whole season…..for the record.

The whole world should know better than to believe what Tim Panaccio says. He’s a hack loser “reporter” that invents catchy headlines with no concept of actually reporting the real stories. The guy was a great player but now he’s a cherry picker. On a few teams he may be perfect but on most teams he’d probably be just taking up a roster spot and cap room. After playing with the best player in the world for two weeks he may just have to go back to the KHL where he’d be the man all by himself again.

Reading the comments on here you would think Jagr didn’t score a point last season. In fact, he scores just five points less then Rick Nash did last season. Sure he might have been playing with a more talented cast, but he still scored them. Like him or hate him the guy can still play, and if he can get himself in a bit better shape this season he could be just as productive as he was last season.

The reason 21 teams have shown interest is simple: Hes not likely to cost more then $3-4 million a season and might be good for 40-50 points… plus a ton of veteran experience. Could he end up hurt most of the season and be a flop? Sure, but the up side is worth the risk apparently.

Hell, Id be happy to see Jagr sign with the Rangers. He might not fit in that great with their young cast, but he could help add a little pop to their power play. Not to mention I think a Richards/Gaborik/Jagr line could be very entertaining to watch.

First off you should learn to spell his name if you’re trumpeting him for your team but you’re also missing several parts of the equation: + a few more defensmen + a goalie who isn’t mediocre + several depth players who will apparently play for free + Cindy not ever getting hit again + Malkin agreeing to stay in Pittsburgh = maybe one more cup.
