Cap floor– they get “credit” for having paid the player cap wise, but don’t actually have to pay Thomas. That’s why they would do it. And the bs should move #46 this summer… And they should not be banking on Horton… He may very well be all done…

If they get rid of Thomas, it is $5 million off cap. Savard going on LTIR is 4 Million off cap. The latter will definitely happen, as it did last season. People keep saying someone will take thomas in order to reach the cap floor. Maybe that happens and the Bruins get the number off the books but i dont see why anyone would spend money on a player who isnt going to play this season. might as well get someone who can be out there. Bruins won’t make any major moves though. A couple of depth guys, maybe.

Even if they wanted to make a move, they don’t have any cap space available. I don’t know what the deal is with Thomas obviously, but with him, they are right up against the cap ceiling.

I have a hard time following Chiarelli here…should lock up Seguin and co if he really wants to show the Jacobs’ family “commitment.” Foul me once…
