You’re right in that it’s classless and douche. A kid should get a moment in the sun, with the crowd cheering when he’s drafted. You’re wrong in implying that it’s somehow a Pittsburgh thing. It happens in every draft, in every city, in every sport. The Jets fans booed the Giants and Patriots picks in NY at the NFL draft this year (and every year.). The Flyers fans will get their chance in two years. It’s not Pittsburgh fans, it’s sports fans, and the deterioration of respect in sports.

this is a professional sport, you get the good with the bad. Those fans paid money to be in the stands, as long as they are acting out in a legal fashion, I am okay with it.

I think the young man can handle it, and his family.

Ok, I get the Pittsburgh fans booing Paul Holmgren. That comes with the territory. The team that Paul created embarrassed Pittsburgh this Spring. However, it was disgraceful for the fans to boo the Flyers 1st round draft choice. This moment is the one special moment in this family’s life. Their son, brother, grandson achieves a lifelong goal,… And the dirt balls in Pittsburgh boo him. The family is standing applauding their son among a chorus of boos. Disgraceful. That family did not deserve that treatment. Very classy Pittsburgh.

2. Huge run on defensemen to start the draft.

3. Nash wasn’t traded and I can’t believe a better offer will be coming in than what he got from Ottawa.
