Never liked Tim Thomas never will he played like crap in the playoffs this year.At his age its hard to think he will play again after a year off. even any team in the AHL will pass on Tim Thomas his washed up.

As a lifelong Bruins fan, I’ll remember Thomas for his performance in the Stanley Cup last year. He was a rock for the B’s. Then he had to go ruining his previously untarnished image by acting like a self – serving, egotistical ass afterwards. Plus he played like horse manure in the B’s run this playoff season … somewhere along the way he lost his edge, the edge that made him great during the run for the Cup. Glad to see religious fanatic, right wing pundit, take his stick and go elsewhere. He’ll have to learn to keep his political, religious mouth shut if he wants to re-join the professional ranks again. What an egotistical moron he became.

As a life long Bruin fan I will always remember the remarkable Tim Thomas for his remarkable Stanley Cup Post-Season run and how he brought stability to a Bruins organization in need a #1 Goaltender! He played is heart out and gave what he had every night! I am disappointed in his decision to take this year off from Hockey but I respect him for doing what is best for him and his family! If he ends up coming back to the Bruins this year or next (Yes I know it is highly unlikely) I will be glad to welcome him back! If not he will always be one of the Best Bruin netminders to stand between the pipes and he will always have my respect for his accomplishments he achieved as a Bruin!!!! Go B’s!!!!

You’re kidding right? It’s hard to pickup on your sarcasm because alot of the stuff you say is stupid, but really? You want Tim Thomas? I will take Ryan Miller over Thomas anyday of the wekk and 10 times on Sunday. Put Chara, Boychuck and Co. in front of Miller and see what happens.

Assuming he isn’t going to play, the Bs would likely be the ones paying. Perhaps it will be a conditional thing. Bs would owe the other team x pick in the 2013 draft if Tim doesn’t play and the team owes the Bs x pick in that draft if he does play.

i wouldn’t be surprised to see it be for a conditional draft pick next year if he does play. 7th round pick if he doesn’t play, 2nd or 3rd round pick if he does. we’ll see what happens though.

And that’s the other part to it- how much would Colorado or someone like that really give in a trade for a guy who is there just to keep your salary above the floor limit? Hard to believe the guy who won the goaltending triple-crown a year ago is probably tough to sell for a seventh-round pick now.

Interesting that he agreed to do it today. This would only need to be done before July 1st if the Bruins were going to make a move before the draft.

Also the Avalanche might think they could convince Tim to play as a Backup/Mentor for Varlamov. For 3 million bucks he could play 15 games and be able to stay close to where he lives now in Colorado.

…has any athlete ever burned a bridge with a city the way Thomas has in the past year? From Stanley Cup hero who wouldn’t be allowed to pay for a drink in Boston for life to self-centered pariah wanting out in a year’s time, it’s mind-blowing.
