Good point but the Jackets can certainly get better talent or shall I say 3 better players than the 3 players offered by Ottawa.

Apparently Nash has put TOR, BOS, PHI, NYR & SJS on his list. Don’t know that OTT is on the list. He’d have to approve it. With acquisition of Bob from PHI, a goalie or goalie prospect is no longer essential.

Nash will give them a scoring and offensive skill not easily pushed off the puck.

He’ll make all those guys better in the O zone.

I think this is the best offer the CBJ are going to get for Nash, especially if the offer is inclusive of the first round pick. I’m not sure how Howson could pass this up for something better as it gives them a lot of pieces that they sorely need (blue chip goalie prospect ready to play this year, solid 2nd/3rd line winger in Foligno, and a solid 1st/2nd line future centre in Zibanejad). Especially, if Edmonton doesnt take Yakupov 1st overall tonight and the jackets can draft him, they would be strong down the middle for years to come.

If I’m the jackets I take this deal with the sens pick then trade the jackets pick for some more depth and then start the year with a playoff capable team.

Nash has to approve OTT & CBJ will get other offers trying to match or better this. Fair offer though.

I hate to say this, as I feel it is used too much, but I feel this really apply’s here. Nash could be the missing peace for Ottawa. They are already a gritty team with some great scorers, throw Nash on a line with Spezza and Alfredsson to close out his career and I could see the Sens going deep into the playoffs.

Then again, this makes too much sense for Howson so he probably won’t pull the trigger.
