The first thing I said was he is leaky. So no that’s not just it, most goaltenders speak the language, can help defensemen with letting them know if there’s pressure, surely helps when he is playing the puck, and in the locker room it helps if his teammates can talk to him and feed off of each others confidence. Who knows what bob is thinking

I think the trade works on both ends. Bob is only 23, not near the prime of a goalie. He’ll grow and improve, and he has shown that he has some ability, but he needs consistent playing time. He is an upgrade over Mason and should get that consistent time, so that works for Columbus. Best case: it’s a long period of stability (likely not excellence) in net for the Jackets.

I don’t see Philly using those draft picks, like many others have said they can be used in a package, maybe even to Nashville to acquire negotiating rights with Suter. With the defensive depth, and young offensive talent, the only real need on Broadstreet is for a top 2 defensemen. These picks give them leverage to acquiring one. I can definitely see why it works for both sides.

Very interesting trade… the Flyers get some decent picks, the Jackets get a goalie who knows his ass from a hole in the ground (an upgrade from the status quo), everyone wins. Very surprised though that Arniel went for Bobo- I was starting to wonder if perhaps Nash-for-Luongo had any chance of happening if the right add-ons were put in place on both sides. Unlikely now.

Think it was smart trrade we need some young d. Maybe will find some huge young players to help brzy and hope leighton as back up the one wasn’t given fair chance. Screw bobo he chokes. Leighton yes lost game seven of stanley cup but he also got us pass boston when we was doom to loose it. Why think he goalie for us let him get full season in as a back up. Brzy can get rest bobo was so chokish brzy never got chance be fresh. The d help need down low pronger maybe gone and he old needs help. We get something handle rangers and devils we will be good. Offencce is great.

It’s generally a good idea to have at least one goalie with a sub-3.00 GAA, so I presume this is the prelude to a deal for a veteran backup of some sort. Let’s be honest – Philly needs one goalie who can make a save, and right now, that’s one more than they’ve got.
