Hard to see the Stars surviving much longer without a regional rival. Attendance is in the tank and the closest team is what, St. Louis? The NHL should have gone to Houston instead of Atlanta in the last expansion.

Houston, Seattle, Quebec, Kansas City, maybe Toronto or Hamilton instead of Greensboro, Columbus, Nashville, Tampa, Miami, Glendale, Newark, Long Island. Makes more sense and travel would be way better.

Mike Florio is very good about taking the media to task when they don't credit sources. That Dallas Morning News seems to have gotten that info very fast. The site below has been doing the mileage charts for the last 5 years pretty much immediately after they are announced and had the exact same mileage the DMN cited:

http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2012/6/21/3105520/nhl-super-schedule-travel-miles-team

FWIW, they updated it to add a Christmas stopover trip, thus Dallas' mileage increased. I originally cited this site in a comment in another PHT article (and cited the then 49,851-mile total).

This dude puts a lot into getting that number out there and if the Dallas Morning News really just ripped it from his site without crediting him, bad on them. I have no affiliation with their site at all. Just think they should be credited properly. The link I gave also has mileagae for all teams if PHT want to give them a shout out :)
