I don't understand your position at all. Luongo allowed 7 goals in two games AT HOME against the Kings (and appeared shaky in doing so) and Schneider allowed only 4goals against the Kings in three games.

To me, Schneider should be the no. 1 guy for Vancouver next year.

The only reason this statistic is still "alive" is that he was pulled in favor of Schneider; if they had kept Luongo for the entire series, they would have been swept by the Kings.

Looking at supply and demand of goaltenders in the league, I can't help but see this situation unfolding between the pipes around the league as a negative for the Canucks.

The supply is very thin now, with Luongo as the only feasible number one on the market. As well, the price for Luongo is likely very high.

The demand for goalies around the league is also very thin, with teams filling their nets here and there, straying away from Bobby Lu's lifetime contract. Not too many teams are in the market for a #1 anymore.

Due to this, the return for Luongo will have to be lowered in order for a trigger to be pulled. Teams know the Canucks can't afford both, and that there simply aren't that many suitors out there.

If the demand was high and the supply was low, the Canucks would be in the enviable position they speak of, but with a low-low outcome, they are stuck with a couple of teams, and low-ball offers. I think this is why Gillis is talking "late summer" in terms of a deal happening. It will need to be hammered out over a long period of time.

As much crap as Luongo gets for being a 'choker', the fact remains that he has never lost in the first round of the playoffs. For a team that is under pressure to make the playoffs, that is an intriguing statistic.

Schneider is the guy to move. Much better return. Any issues Lu has will disappear with Schneider gone because he'll know he's the guy.

Maybe they're lucky and may dump Lou to TOR, or they'll have an tense situation in the crease next year. Other options don't seem feasible to me.
