I would love nash, but the theory that you can outscore an opposing team with average defense and goaltending has been disproved. Flyers were 2nd in scoring last season and must improve defense first, otherwise they will continue their cup drought

i wondered why they paid him so well in the first place. he’s making giroux type money for a long time, definitely not worth it. if they can get a decent pick for him, i would shop him too. flyers have proven they draft well over the past few years but they always make a dumb free agent move it seems like every other year…signing pronger and bryzgalov til eternity sure does suck right now. at least dumping JVR will open some of that money up. losing jagr helps too.

As a Flyer supporter, I’m definitely hoping he’s one player the team sends packing prior to the new season. I’ve had enough of this guy and the so-called expectations he’s supposed to have brought to the Flyers since he arrived on the scene. He’s done absolutely nothing since coming to the big club, not to mention he’s injury prone and quite frankly very lazy. Get rid of him now!!!

I’d take bobby Ryan to . All of those forwards would be good . But we definitely have to pick up a shut down defenseman .

After looking at the talent the jackets have I have to say, the only thing they have that Philly could use is their pick. I could see JVR and bob for Allen York and the 1st round pick. This isn’t a very talented draft and york is nothing special, Philly clears cap and gets hopefully Murray in the pick to help out their D. The jackets get a top 6 forward they needed and a possible new starting goalie.
The deal makes sense for both teams but highly unlikely.

Just saying for 8 mill I would rather have bobby Ryan and josh Georges over Nash. Philly needs D, not a player making 8 mill a year to do something Philly does 3 times a game anyway.

At the end of the day, JVR, Bob and picks probably gets Nash deal done. Only better prospect for CBJ is if VAN decides to trade Schneider instead of Luongo–who may be every bit as untradeable as I thought. Schneider, Kassian, picks / prospects might be most attractive to CBJ.

“over-rated softie” eh? thats rich. i believe someone else on this forum pointed out, rick nash has been a top 6 forward on team canada for the last 10 years including juniors, worlds, olympics…including good numbers (point per game) and silvers and gold. with the greatest pool of players to choose from in the world, team canada keeps him on their squad. i would take him on my team and anyone would be a fool to NOT want him on your team if the price is right. he’s been a good guy for columbus, he’s a good player on a terrible team and has handled that with class and loyalty over the years. it gets to a point where you need to win something if you’re at his skill level and you cant fault him for wanting out at this point.

Columbus wouldn’t trade jack Johnson they just got him and he wants to be there unlike carter maybe they’d trade the LA 1st round and player or 2nd rounder but Johnson’s not moving and it take more than JVR to take away the #2 pick when Columbus is going through a rebuild

Nash is a huge cap hit with fluctuating numbers. I would much rather go for Ryan, however we do need D. JJ would not be a good pick up, there is a reason the kings got better when they got rid of him. JJ said he didn’t care about the other players, he is a cancer to the locker room.

I would love murray, but let’s be reasonable, our chances are slim on that deal.

What I would really love is to send JVR to Montreal for Josh Georges.
He is an undersized D but has a ton of heart, blocks shots like crazy and rarely makes mistakes. Pretty much he is a young kimmo tinmonen. I’d trade JVR for him.

jvr fell even further down tje depth chart when we gor voracek schenn simmer and of course shut down specialist coots. but he needs to be trades for a top flight defensman. weber is the only acceptable player worth a jvr schenn and mab package not nash please not nash if u must get a forward its either parise or ryan…pref the cherry hill native ryan im sure he hurts as much as fans do for a cup in philly
