I keed. But for realz yo, I saw a new first for me watching the Panthers in the playoffs: empty seats in Florida’s arena. Even Phoenix supports its team enough to show up in the playoffs.

That’s ridiculous: how could an NHL team be supported with only 2 season ticket holders? That makes no sense

It’s because the ticket prices are the same as when they were winning Stanley Cups. Until they adjust prices according to the product on the ice, they aren’t going to sell out; when they put a winner back on the ice, people will come.

For the “fairly casual” hockey fan, Colorado is offering some pretty sweet specials on “half” season lower bowl tickets, and technically, it’s a full season, but half of the season is upper bowl, half lower bowl. For the hardcore fan like myself, where I actually have a preference where I sit, the season tickets are ridiculously priced. I’ll continue to buy 15-20 single game tickets to sit where I want instead. I actually make good money too, but you have to be rich to afford good season tickets in Colorado.

Interesting that Colorado crowed for years about their sellout streak at McNichols Arena and Pepsi Center until the team took a nosedive, and now they won’t talk about ticket sales at all. I’m not sayin’… I’m just sayin’.
