They’ve been bad before WITH Ryan. The Ducks have lots of holes to fill and lack depth. If they are to extend Perry and Getzlaf AND get better, trading Ryan for a number of assets could technically help the team more over the long term than, say, keeping Ryan and risk losing Perry all while continuing to have poor production in other spots.

this rumor is preposterous! I hope the ducks GM (Murray) isn’t dumb enough to trade 1 of the 3 personal on the team that can actually score a goal! unless they enjoy getting publicity by getting the first round pick year after year like edmonton

Has everybody forgot Ryan stomping on Blum’s foot and getting suspended from the playoffs? That was one of the dirtiest moves of the past couple of years not to mention how much it hurt his team.

I bet you the asking price for Ryan isn’t close to that of Nash, yet over the last three years hes averaged MORE points and goals then Nash. He also has a $2.7 million less cap hit and is a couple years younger. If this rumor is true, Ryan should be the guy everyones after…. not Nash.

Pens could use one more top-flight scoring winger to run one each with Crosby and Malkin. Pens need to move one of their middle two centres. Anaheim, like everyone else, could put Jordan Staal to excellent use. Why not look into a deal built around Ryan for Staal plus one of Pittsburgh’s assorted defensive prospects? It’s not like they need all of ‘em by any stretch.

It’d be nice if the Avs added a guy like this but the only options I see in return are Stastny, which won’t happen if they’re trying to shed salary because Stastny makes more than Ryan, or Duchene, and I don’t think you give up on him yet to be the 30+ goal guy like Ryan. Plus, you don’t get rid of Stastny because he’s supposed to be the setup guy for a guy like Ryan. sigh

Would love to see him in a Bruins uniform. Young proven 30 goal guy and plays in all aspects of the game. Would like to see them swap him for Lucic but Anaheim would have to bank of a lot of empty nets for Lucic to match the production gap.

Would love to see the Blues add Ryan. Although would be interesting to see how the locker room would react. Plenty of Blues have had their issues with Ryan!
