Kings fan also takes out classified ad in Vancouver paper, Phoenix and St. Louis next?

Jun 18, 2012, 3:36 PM EDT

Earlier today we brought you the actions of an anonymous Kings fan that mocked the Devils in the classified ads of a New Jersey paper.

Now, it appears the mystery fan raised the stakes.

Here’s what appeared in today’s edition of The Province:

Just so we’re clear…this can’t be a coincidence, right? I mean, it has to be the same person.

Oh yeah, belated happy 50th to Dierdre. You can cross “getting mentioned on PHT” off your bucket list as well.

Bet it was a former employee of the Province, possibly a blogger or two.

When you have waited as long as Kings fans have to win – you build up a fair size advertising budget – awaiting the full page Presidents Trophy ads to start any time now……

I’m not a fan of either team but based on how the Vancouver fans reacted last year to losing this is fantastic…

Funny how people get there panties in a bunch over some thing this harmless

big blues fan but man it would be pretty rough if they took out an ad that said “Dear St Louis, First albert, now the cup, next the rams? sincerely kings fans”. sad but true/ may be true in the future….

    • cardsandbluesforever - Jun 19, 2012 at 7:25 PM

i dont think anybody at the post dispatch would be dumb enough to accept that ad.

I can only imagine what a Phoenix ad would say LOL

hmm..seems the fans are just as classy as the team captain Dustin Brown…punks…Hey LA, maybe you should make sure to thank the officials for failing to blow the whistle on your team several times…or what i call, “selective whistling”. See you next season, hope Brown learns how to box too because im placing bets on how many times a Coyote, or a Blues, or Canucks player starts beating his butt during the regular season…

You thumbs up’d your own comment….didnt you

    • bigpappi - Jun 18, 2012 at 7:50 PM

Boo hoo stop crying about missed calls or hockey hits all teams have there share

    • snewter99 - Jun 19, 2012 at 6:48 PM

LOL … um yea, ok buddy. Whatever you need to tell yourself to help you sleep at night, and to justify why your team failed this year … just keep doin’ it.

Good luck with your counseling, too.

Dear LA Kings fans, get ready to go back to your team missing the playoffs and being irrelevant for the next 20 years. Signed the Western Conference

    • bigpappi - Jun 18, 2012 at 7:54 PM

They may disappear for twenty years, or that may be wishful thinking, but boy did they ever put the smack down on the top three seed, wow not only did they do that but they eliminated 3 , 100 plus point teams in the playoff in the Canucks, blues and Devils. So if they disappear they will still go down as one of the dominate teams in recent history in the playoff.

    • snewter99 - Jun 19, 2012 at 6:56 PM

Here’s the best part – your frustration at yet another playoff-bound LA team next year will only be that much sweeter. Or maybe that big shiny thing we just historically, COMMANDINGLY won is clouding your vision. (Poor guy. I get it.)

Regardless – just don’t say you weren’t warned. You do realize we were the 2nd youngest team in the NHL, right? Oh, and the biggest puzzle pieces of our team are all signed for an overall average of about 7 years, right? Oh, and we have cap space, right?

      … Right?

Was that ad placed by *A* Kings fan, or *THE* Kings fan?

  9. kitshky - Jun 18, 2012 at 8:43 PM

I got buddies in LA who are losing their minds that the Kings finally won and this is about as harmless as trash talking gets soo … let’s just relax and them have it.

(Altho I agree, as amazing a run as this was, I have a hard time believing this represents any major power shift in the West.)

This is good-natured ribbing, and they beat #1, #2 and #3. Canuck fans are more angry with Duncan Keith, than they are with the Kings. If Kings fans promise not to turn into spoiled, loser (aka Red Sox) fans, then points for being creative and kicking butt this year.

The picture… isn’t that Sig Hansen from Deadliest Catch?

  12. selldannysell - Jun 19, 2012 at 11:59 AM

I’d rather see the Kings win a championship than the Lakers any day!
