I’m mostly speaking out of wishful thinking, and he ought to go wherever he’d like. Unlike many Minnesota sports fans, I don’t feel like every Minnesota-born professional athlete has an obligation and duty to play here, as nice as that would be. I realistically expect him to end up either in NY or Detroit.

Minny will be a different team in the next 2-3 years, if they land Suter and Parise, they will be a contender (IF HEALTHY). Anyteam that adds the best forward and defenceman in free agency could almost say the same.

the odds are better than most think that he or Suter ends up in Minnesota… but no matter which team you like or think he will end up in, there are 10 other GM’s matching or getting close to a top end deal, so they could land almost anywhere.

Minny’s owner will be throwing suit cases of cash at Parise this summer, which might bring up his price even more… I presonally want Parise in a Wild uni, but only if the price is right, or close to.

If Parise leaves the Devils its going to be becasue he wants to go to a winner… and the Wild sure as hell don’t look like a winner right now. We can sit here and debate all the reasons they had a bad year, you can try to blame it on injury all you want, and you can even talk about all the potential they might have in the near future… but the fact remains, they finished 24th in the league this year. They are not a winner right now, period.

Its far more likely that if he does in fact leave the Devils (not a sure thing by any means), he will land with the Rangers. They have the cap space to make it work, Sather loves to spend big money, its very close so he wouldn’t need to relocate, he likes Torts and the Rangers style, and best of all… the Rangers are certain to be a top contender next season, something that cannot be said for sure about the Wild.
