Drew Doughty says having family around before Game 4 was distracting

If you’re wondering why, perhaps, the Kings haven’t quite looked like themselves lately, defenseman Drew Doughty has some ideas. the Kings had a chance to wrap up the Stanley Cup the last two games but failed to do so.

During today’s media availability, Doughty says playing at home in Game 4 proved to be more than a bit distracting.

“I think a lot of us before Game 4 were distracted with family members and friends, the Cup coming in the building,” Doughty said.

“A lot of things we have to put aside. Family always comes first for everyone, but at this point of the year, the team has to come first.”

That might sound like a cold, harsh reality but remember that this Kings team had taken to staying in a hotel while at home, too. Doughty says they’ve learned a lesson through this.

“We realize a lot of us didn’t play at our potential in Game 4. We were nervous, worried about other things. All of us in the room were kind of frustrated that we were thinking about things ahead of time. Darryl made sure that wasn’t going to happen this time.  We’ll be well-prepared for Game 6.”

Excuses are what I hear from Pouty Doughty.

Silence is what I hear from the Sharks roster. Oh, yeah, ’cause they’re not in the Final. They’re playing golf again instead.

go back your golf course idiot .. your opinions aren’t required here …

      • cerealrapist - Jun 10, 2012 at 10:22 PM

I am a Devils fan, impartial to the Sharks. But I must say, those rebuttals lacked creativity and left much to be desired.

        yeah ? … well have a look below …

        Touche.
However, I feel that dress shop bit was a bit over-elaborate.
Much better than the ole “on the golf course” one, though.

What’s your excuse for San Jose every year in the playoffs then?

  3. sjsharksfan11 - Jun 10, 2012 at 9:17 PM

My excuse is no excuse. When you have Marleau on your team you will lose every time. And they’re obviously not that quiet when they trade for the rights to Brad Stuart today. No matter what fan you are though, you have to agree that the antics of Doughty after every call this playoffs have been nothing than amateur. I shake my head each time he slams his stick in tantrum.

Coming from the guy with the most ridiculous posts……Blomfeld I’ll always be here. Open your eyes you senile fool. You’re the Kings fan that hated Doughty when he held out for more cash now all of a sudden loves the guy.

*** just yesterday at a dress shop in San Jose ***

store clerk: hello sir, how may I help you ?

sjsharksfan11: hi asshole … say, do you have any Shark’s dresses for sale ?

store clerk: oh yes, we have the latest offering here which features a delightful aquatic pattern !

sjsharksfan11: oh my, that’s just fabulous ! … and your pricing is positively decadent !

store clerk: would you like to try it on ?

sjsharksfan11: do the Sharks always miss the playoffs ? … of course I would !

store clerk: guards, kindly help this man to the changing room … “headfirst” !

      sjsharksfan11: wait a minute man ! … like, what’s going on here ?

      guards: shut up ! … KAPOW ! … KABOOM ! … KAZAM !

      ————————————————————————————————-

two things friend … you refer to me as being “senile” ? … well suffice it to say that were we to meet in person, then in all probability such meeting would conclude rather “rapidly” … you also suggest that I was here speaking on behalf of Doughty at the start of the year ? … again, no such luck … I first came to PHT only in late January, at which time I began to speak of my vision that something very special was going to happen this year for our beloved Kings … therefore both of your accusations are complete falsehoods, which leaves me no other choice but to offer you and your Shark fems the following:

Blomfeld, I’m sure your legal guardians can’t wait till you find a job and move out of their basement.

And also probably the 10th time belonged used that little “joke”. Gets stranger each time I see it because I think whoever finds that funny is one strange bird

Its funny when a kings fan try’s to make jokes about the sharks performance on the playoffs. This is the first year the kings made it out of the first series in how long? Kings have only won the division once in 40+ years.
Kings fans have no room to call the sharks a bad playoff team or chokers.
If the Devils come back to win the cup in 7, the kings and their fans will never live it down.
